About the Whisky: 

Fresh and fruity, 1770 The Original marks a new era of whisky in Glasgow. Handcrafted in copper pot stills, freshest Scottish barley and the purest Loch Katrine water creates this fine spirit. Matured in first fill ex-Bourbon casks, and finished in virgin oak, the whisky is notably smooth and fruity. Its complex nose shows red berries with tropical undertones, followed by vanilla biscuit. The palate favours butterscotch, with crème brulee char, and a hint of honeyed pear, dried figs and shortbread bring a long, thick finish of orange marmalade and woody nutmeg.
